The Integrated Traction Control & Battery Management System
performs the Control and monitoring of the locomotive power system
in both Running mode (Traction and Electric Braking, recovering
the corresponding energy back to the Battery) and Battery Charging
mode from 3 x 400V socket via the Traction Motor windings and the
Traction & Charging Converter.
The BMS (Battery Management System) consists of the Central BMS ,
16 Local BMS microcontrollers in each Pack and the Charge Redistribution
Devices (mounted across each Cell), providing the comprehensive features
of the storage Battery with the following main tasks:
